The architect about this project:
Station Lansingerland-Zoetermeer includes the design of a new transport junction to the east of Zoetermeer, comprising an NS railway station, bus station and a Randstadrail stop. Characteristic here is the ‘Groene Laan’; a green foot and bicycle bridge across the A12 and the track that also functions as the passageway for the train station and a new stop for the Randstadrail.
Station Lansingerland-Zoetermeer is designed in such a way that it functions well right from the start, even in incomplete form, and that it can grow with future area developments. The station is built according to a sustainable and green concept, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. The sustainability of the design is expressed in the chosen materials, such as wood and concrete, among others.
