The Centrum Varend Erfgoed in Hoorn is where maritime history devotees meet up. Hoorn is the home port of about twenty-five historic commercial vessels, including a beautiful collection of monumental ships that still sail. Since 23 May 2015, Centrum Varend Erfgoed has also been the home port of replica Halve Maen. You can find Centrum Varend Erfgoed on the southern tip of the Oostereiland, in the middle of Hoorn’s historic port area, which is also the location of the office of TPAHG Architecten, responsible for the historic Oostereiland’s new purpose and restauration, as well as the design of the Centrum Varend Erfgoed.
