PEFC™ is the global independent certification mark that promotes sustainable forest management.
PEFC’s ultimate goal is for all the world’s forests to be managed sustainably.
The Forest Stewardship Council’s FSC® quality mark proves that wood comes from a forest that has been independently assessed as a well-managed forest according to environmental, sustainability, social and economic standards.
Since July 2013, a solid wood panelling or facade cladding must have a CE mark and associated Declaration of Performance (DOP). This concerns both untreated wood and wood that has been treated with a fire retardant. In September 2017, Leegwater Houtbereiding BV was the first company in the Netherlands to receive the CE certificate for fire-retardant treated panelling and facade cladding made of solid wood (NEN 14915).
