“De Draai” in Broek in Waterland is a complex owned by Woonzorg Nederland and features a care home and a number of assisted-living facilities. Policy changes resulted in the care home no longer being used. By redeveloping the complex and adding new, independent residences, supplemented by a neighbourhood support centre, a new, balanced and high-quality living environment for over-55s came into being.
The apartments stand in a parklike setting and have been incorporated in the finely meshed pattern of walking routes of the surrounding residences.
In addition to the existing assisted-living facilities, the newly built area on “de Draai” now includes 32 apartments and a neighbourhood support centre.
